Nature on the Board

Better Business Network was the first Manchester-based organisation (and only third in the world) to appoint a nature representative to their board. In 2025, GMAST member Future Everything became the first cultural organisation in the world to appoint a nature representative to their board. We would recommend getting in contact with either of these leading organisations for advice on implementing Nature on the board.

Environmental Board Champions

The Board Environmental Champions Programme is a free, self-paced training designed for trustees and Board members of Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisations (NPOs) and Investment Principle Support Organisations (IPSOs). It supports boards to embed environmental responsibility at governance level, strengthen their sustainability strategies, reduce impact, and lead by example across the sector.
